Claudia Shelton is the founder and president of The Hopewell Group,
providing strategic development strategies, team facilitation and executive
coaching to high performing corporate executives and their organizations. As a
seasoned executive, licensed professional counselor, certified psychologist and
educator, Shelton is an internationally recognized authority on leadership and
organizational development—helping individuals and organizations to turn their
blind spots into assets.
Shelton has written five books including the recently published Blind Spots:
Achieve Success by Seeing What You Can’t See (John Wiley, March, 2007). Her
clients include companies from financial services, insurance, investments,
aerospace, retail, manufacturing, and packaged goods, the majority of which are
included among the Fortune 500.
Interviewed nationally by the media and named by Business Week Magazine
as "one of the 50 women to watch", Shelton was previously an executive for
IBM, JPMorganChase, and Travelers Insurance Company; and was a board
member of the Association of National Advertisers and the Marketing
Science Institute. She holds master’s degrees in Business, Communications
Research, and Counseling and has taught at Michigan State University, NYU,
Columbia University, City University of New York and the
University of Hartford. She is currently a trustee of the Connecticut Career
Development Association.
A national speaker, Shelton’s keynote presentations and seminars include, The
Hartford Insurance Group, LIMRA, JPMorganChase, Kaman Aerospace, Deutsche Bank,
Pitney Bowes, The Society for Human Resource Executives, the United
Nations, the Society for Information Managers, the
Association of National Advertisers, The American Marketing
Association, The International Congress of Meeting Planners and Attorneys for
Family Held Enterprises.
In addition, Ms. Shelton serves as Executive Director
of The Hopewell Learning Center, which conducts research related to
learning across the lifespan, specifically projects for teachers and students in
grades K-12 and those 50-65 year olds facing the choices of their Second Adult
Life™.
